Yoga Teacher Training - that will give you the level of growth you are looking for.
You keep choosing yogaโฆ not because itโs trendy.
But because itโs the only place your nervous system exhales.
Your body is asking for education, not more willpower. Not another program that tells you to breathe and trust the universe. Real science. Real practice. In a room, together, in the Okanagan.
You donโt need a reason beyond yourself.
Does any of this sound like you?
You are an educated individual whoโs been taught things about your body that just donโt hold up to scrutiny.
You feel overwhelmed by the hundreds of YTTs and Instagram yoga gurus out there.
You doubt you will ever actually teach, but instead crave yoga certification as milestone in your personal journey of continued evolution.
"I gained so much confidence in my cueing, sequencing, and overall understanding"
- Linden Thomson, 200-hour YTT graduate
What if Yoga wasnโt an escapeโฆ But the system that rewired how you live, work, and respond?
You are worth this. Whether or not you ever stand in front of a class.
You've been thinking about this for years.
Not because you weren't ready, but because most trainings ask you to take a month off work, and because some quiet part of you decided you weren't qualified. You don't know your muscle groups. You've never studied biology.
Here's the thing: you don't have to. That's MY job. The job of the person teaching you. Seven weekends, here in the Okanagan, keeping your job. The science, translated.
And when you walk out, you'll still have us. Here is what our past grads say:
"So knowledgable, supportive (past my training), and kind." - Kirsten Pridham
"They also provide mentorship/training opportunities beyond the main yoga teacher training" - Angela Luo

You donโt need to know science. Thatโs what we are here for. We have our B.Sc., and have spent years turning research papers into cues a person can actually use in a Tuesday night class.
From the first time you tried out a yoga class, you felt a connection. You canโt quite pinpoint what it was about it exactly: the movements, focusing on your breath, or the peacefulness of the practice, but youโre drawn to know more.
โIt was like 17 days of therapyโฆ it showed me what I am capable of when I put myself first.โ
Kirsten P. YTT graduate, Feb 2024
Yoga teacher training is not just for those wanting to become an instructor. It is a rich learning experience that will change how you feel about yourself, and how you see the world.
Real Education, Real Impact.
Give your nervous system what itโs craving.
Every training and workshop we run is designed with intention, from the atmosphere we create, to the way each day flows.
In person, small cohorts, evidence-based yoga education.
Navigating your 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training course is overwhelming.
Are you in search of avoiding mediocre Yoga training courses that wonโt give you the level of growth you are looking for?
We understand the struggleโฆ and have been there before:
Do you fear you may not get your moneyโs worth and the training will not match your expectations?
Are you uncertain how to evaluate the credibility of schools and providers/instructors out there to ensure you receive high-quality training?
Do you question pseudoscience claims by the wellness industry?
Are you overwhelmed with options including online ones, and you struggle to determine which one is the best course for you?
Are you worried that you are not qualified, or may not have the skills or level of experience as some of the other students?
Most programs require you taking consecutive weeks off work, and many can be prohibitively expensive. Our program is seven alternating weekends that is not a compromise version of an immersion, it provides you with more integration time then an immersion ever will.
The fear after a training with something new is forgetting the material afterwards. And I get it - the stakes are high. With 2 weeks in between teaching weekends you get an opportunity to re-visit material, to practice teach your friends and family, and to ask as many questions as you like, until you feel confident.
Guru culture is dangerous, and asking students to have faith in one person brings up so many red flags. This is why we pull from the most recent research, we are always learning, and we pull in other experts for the training and content.
Other trainings ask you to trust the teacher. Ours teaches you to trust yourself.
New teachers in the Okanagan earn between $25-$40 per class, and it takes 3-6 months of consistent teaching to build a class and a following. Whether you decide to teach or not, we are here to support your journey. We will set up a community class for you to practice teach in a studio environment, for donation to your charity of choice. We know most studio owners in the Valley and you can choose where to host your community class.
If you never plan to teach, which is at least 30% of people who take our training, that is absolutely okay. There is never an expectation from us, that you will teach after this.
You do not need to know muscle groups or bones, or biology. Thatโs what we are here to do - to teach you.
People tell us all the time how this training has changed how they experience Yoga - and we take it as a compliment.
A science-based yoga school set in the beautiful Okanagan, Yoga Science School is a holistic wellness organization to support and empower you with science-backed Yoga education.
No Science Background Needed.
Thatโs what weโre here for.
Actually Educational Yoga Training that will Forever Change Your Life
We were tired of seeing people injured in Yoga classes taught by teachers who didnโt fully understand anatomy, or didnโt know how to intentionally plan classes that would allow peoples nervous systems to fully soften. We were frustrated by instructors more interested in the aesthetics of the postures than guiding students on a safe Yoga journey.
We set out to change this.
The Yoga Science School was born out of our respect for Yoga and our desire to teach it in a safe and neuroscience-grounded way.
Aligned and aware, we are a group of experienced and highly qualified Yoga teachers, community builders, and devoted to supporting YOU.

After a serious accident, Josee found the gentleness and acceptance of yoga to be instrumental in her own personal healing journey.
Not only did yoga support the recovery of her body, it gave her a safe space to process her trauma.
Since then, Josee has completed over 500 hours of training which has deepened her knowledge of the history, philosophy and principles of practice.
Combining her background in psychology and social work, Josee has become an advocate for mental health and trauma-informed practice.
Josee focuses on creating safety and trust with her students, by using inclusive language and cues, and by paying attention to possible environmental triggers or stimuli that might affect her students.
